Arangetram, a Tamil word that means “to ascend the stage,” has historically referred to a student’s first public performance, where a guru presents their student to the public. In modern times, this term has evolved to refer to a graduation ceremony of sorts, where the student performs a collection of solo works designed to showcase their mastery and learning thus far. While more commonly seen in Indian classical dance forms, these events also exist in the musical performance sphere, allowing students to showcase their musical talents to the public audience.

Srikar’s Arangetram marks an important milestone in his journey as a flutist and vocalist in the Indian Carnatic tradition. This performance highlights the years of dedication and discipline he has put into mastering his craft under the guidance of his gurus, Smt. Pusthakam Ramaa, Smt. Rajalakshmi Gopal Iyengar and Sri. Jayaram Kikkeri. Through this event, Srikar will present a beautiful blend of vocal and instrumental performances, showcasing his growth and depth in the Carnatic style. We invite you to enjoy this special presentation and join us in celebrating Srikar’s hard work and achievements in the world of Indian classical music.

Srikar is profoundly honored and feels an immense sense of privilege to be joined by musical experts like Vidwan Sri. Janardhan Rao on mridangam, Sri. Manjunath N S on rhythm pad, and Sri. Swami Anand Nadayogi on violin, at this concert. With such illustrious stalwarts by his side, this concert will undoubtedly be an extraordinary celebration of musical excellence and artistry.
